Hi, I’m Mika, the founder of Witches’ Brew, an enchanting online teashop that I am very proud to have launched. In this blog, I will be talking about why I chose to create this website, where I source my range of herbal tea leaves from and my personal interests. This is so that you can get to know me better as the creator of your new favourite teashop and you can guarantee that your next cup of tea is sustainably sourced. Without further ado, let’s dive into why I decided to create Witches’ Brew...
I have always been an avid tea drinker. My earliest memories of enjoying a cup of tea go back to when I was 7 or 8 years old, sitting in my grandma’s living room. Whenever I visited her, she would always ask if I wanted a cup of tea; she still asks me to this day. I was a huge fan of the rich, sweet flavours of the chai my grandma made for me and from then on, I experimented with trying many unique types of herbal tea. I have recently developed a habit of drinking 4 cups of herbal tea a day and I have noticed that there are many benefits that have come out of it. My mood generally improves with a good cup of tea, I rarely ever experience headaches and I feel less bloated when I drink tea after a big meal. I wanted to share the magic of tea with others which is why I decided to create my own teashop. Herbal tea is a sacred form of medicine that should be enjoyed for both its distinctive flavours and vast range of health benefits. The way it can cast pain and stress out of the body like a spell is enchanting, hence the reason I wanted to base my products around the concept of witchcraft and magic. Aside from tea, witchcraft has fascinated me for a while and by joining the two ideas together, I have created a safe environment for fellow witches, wizards, sorcerers, and tea enjoyers to find their perfect brew.

Along with tea, witchcraft and magic, I have many other interests I would like to share for my customers to get to know me. It goes without saying that I am a huge music lover. I love all genres of music (apart from country). One of my favourite things to do is to attend concerts and festivals as I love the loud and crowded atmosphere they create. I also love meeting all kinds of people at concerts and making friends over our shared love of the band or musician we have come to see.

I enjoy travelling to different places around the country with my friends. My favourite places to go are Brighton and Camden Market. The busyness of the two areas contrasts hugely with where I live in the quiet countryside.
Although I appreciate the loud and vibrant aspects of life, I also take time to relax by enjoying my own company when I’m at home. Cooking and baking are some of my best-loved activities for when I want to have some down time. I’m
constantly coming up with new recipes and ways I can create interesting flavour combinations. I was so excited to start Witches’ Brew as it meant I could experiment with mixing tea leaves to produce unique flavours of tea that would appeal to all different palettes. I was also looking forward to including some of my original recipe ideas that use tea leaves as an ingredient on my website for my customers to try. Another past time of mine is researching into topics that interest me. I have been reading into witchcraft for a few years now and I have become intrigued by the practice. Through my website, I hope to educate others on the rich history of witchcraft and share my knowledge with anyone who wants to find out more about it.
Something that is important to me is sustainability. As the population grows and we rely more and more on fossil fuels in our everyday lives, climate change becomes an increasingly dangerous issue. Businesses of all different sizes must consider the sustainability of their products. As a small business, I am doing my bit to combat climate change by using sustainable packaging. All of the packaging used for the tea leaves is made from biodegradable paper which is fully compostable and recyclable. It’s not just the packaging that’s sustainable, but the tea leaves too. They’re supplied from the UK meaning no plane journeys were made in bringing tea leaves to your mug. I hope that Witches’ Brew can be an example to other businesses big or small so that we can all be inspired to make a positive impact on climate change.
I will wrap up this blog post by saying a huge thank you to those who have supported my teashop in any way. Whether it be you have purchased one of the teas or are simply reading my blogs, every one of my customers is hugely appreciated. Keep loving Witches’ Brew!
